Get lost in a game of truth or dare; take up wildlife watching from the window of a Metrolink tram; step inside someone else’s living room; get caught up in a bridal party with a difference; and much more…
Keep your eyes peeled: Lost & Found appears when you least expect it.
Jennifer Gaskell, one of the producers of Lost & Found says: ‘"Art has the ability to make the world seem brighter and we want everyone to be able to enjoy a little piece of it.  We hope Lost & Found puts a smile on people’s faces and helps to bring Manchester & Salford to life

Lowry Outlet Mall, Salford Quays
A burst of colour in the grey mist.
Enclosure is a temporary garden built inside the Lowry Outlet Mall. The project is a challenge to those who view Manchester and Salford as gloomy, ugly or uninspiring by using plants to represent the two cities' vivacity and vibrancy.

PANDA MOMENTS

Metrolink Tram – Media City Line - 11am to 12noon, 12pm to 1pm, 2pm to 3pm, 3pm to 4pm

Panda is looking for a home. Not of brick, something permanent.  A secret of your life in exchange for his own; secrets of when he forgot himself, and tales of the wonderful human YOU are. He knows.

You will receive a gift; a house with Panda fortune inside. Yours, forever as part of this special one-on-one performance piece for commuters on Manchester’s Metrolink tramline.

(Please note – the event is free but commuters do have to purchase a ticket to ride on the tram)

Here Comes The Brides tells the story of a hapless Groom who just can’t help falling in love, and has to decide what to do when faced with three angry Brides. A unique form of walkabout street theatre, fused with a giant public game of cat and mouse, interactive story-telling and ‘secret circus’.

Could you introduce yourself to a complete stranger as Batman or play air guitar for one minute? Would you choose instead to tweet the answer to a truth such as “what is the last lie you told?” or “if you could go on a date with anyone who would you choose?” Do you dare pick up a Truth or Dare MCR card and join in the game?

SMALL ENCOUNTERS by Small Encounters

Inside a faded travelling sideshow, a handful of performers and their tent-like pods offer curious pop-up encounters, travelling between urban and suburban environments. ‘Setting up shop’ for a day, and then gone the next; within each intimate mini-world we invite you to cross the threshold and meet our intriguing characters.

There And Back Again is a new musical theatre work commissioned especially for the Lost and Found Festival. Come and take a trip with our characters on the Manchester Metrolink and experience a journey unlike any other. This innovative production will make you re-think musical theatre through improvisation, story-telling and song.

Encounter British wildlife as you've never seen it before... An interactive series of short performances by a trio of rather peculiar masked creatures out and about in the city. Join an urban fox, a dapper duck and a lady badger as they go about their unusual activities.


FRONT ROOM presented by First Floor Theatre

Lowry Outlet Mall, Salford Quays

First Floor Theatre invite you to a party in Our Front Room in this al fresco performance piece. Celebrate with us, to mark out the rites of passage and milestones of life, put on headphones to listen to instructions from Granddaddy Archie: listen to ‘wha him seh’ to do the one foot skank and move your body to the beat!


SILENT CINEMA presented by AlbinoMosquito
Friday 28th September, 6.00pm – 10.00pm
Great Northern Amphitheatre

Local video artists AlbinoMosquito will be curating a special closing event to ensure that Lost & Found 2012 finishes on a high. Join them at the Great Northern Amphitheatre for a screening of the 1973 sci-fi cult classic Fantastic Planet.
 Fantastic Planet takes us, via mind-bending animation, to a far-away planet by the name of Ygam. Here giants rule and tiny humanoids must fight for their lives and their equality. The event will also feature a game of Truth or Dare MCR and music from ScrubberFox
