Bi Tweet day

Bi Tweet day

Join the Big Bi Tweet

The mass tweet has grown each year and this time is on course to reach more than 4 million people - a huge step up in scale from last year's.

Hundreds of participants all post the same message about bisexual visibility and support at the same time, making a big splash on social media.

Jen Yockney MBE, who set the tweet up, said "Many of the problems bis face come from bisexual invisibility - that we are perceived as gay or straight and parts of who we are and our life experience gets silenced as a result. Bi Visibility Day is a reminder of the need to challenge that and here in Manchester we can be especially proud of our city's long record as one of the few places to mark the date each year since the very start in 1999."

Bi Visibility Day - also known as Celebrate Bisexuality Day - was established in 1999 to highlight the work of local bisexual support organisations around the world like Manchester's BiPhoria as well as national and international projects like Bi Community News and EuroBiNet.

You can read about events worldwide to mark the date and get more info via the link below.
