Another first for MMU

This August Bank Holiday the Manchester Pride Big Weekend will take place in Manchester’s Gay Village. The Manchester Pride Parade is an event related to the festivities that will wind its way through the centre of Manchester on Saturday 23rd.

MMUnion and Manchester Metropolitan University took part in last year’s parade for the first time by having a float enter the procession. The Student Union and the University will be entering again this year with the support of the Vice-Chancellor, 

Professor John Brooks. The theme of the Manchester Pride Parade is ‘Love’. This year’s entry will give an educational twist on the theme that is entitled “The Library of Love”. MMU’s entry will shout out: Love Arts. Love Sciences. Love MMU!

The parade is outside of the Big Weekend in the Gay Village, so anyone wishing to enjoy those festivities will be able to purchase tickets from Manchester Pride directly at
