9k raised by Village People

Many of the businesses and organisations in and around the village came together over the recent Bank Holiday to create the first Village People Weekend.

The stage lineup was a combination of locally sourced talent aswell as international You Tube sensations DWV.

Organiser Paul McAvoy said 'We were clearly delighted at the turnout over the weekend,despite the mixed weather.Pleased also at the co-operation between the various village venues who really came together to make this such a success.We are now consulting with them to decide who should benefit from the funds raised'.

Plans have started already to make next years an equal success.
