The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

This stunning play impresses its Manchester audiences yet again. Having seen the National Theatre’s multi award-winning production several times, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time returns to The Lowry.

Adapted by Stockport-born Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s best-selling book, the play tells the story of 15 years old Christopher Boone and his determination to solve the mystery of who murdered Mrs. Shears’ dead dog Wellington.

Scott Reid (Christopher) takes us on a fascinating journey that turns his world upside down and back again. In a mesmerising performance, Scott perfectly captures the struggle that Christopher is going through, with Lucianne McEvoy playing the part of Siobhan (Christopher’s confidante) with clarity and a relaxedness that contrasts perfectly.

The physical theatre elements really work in this production and bring Christopher’s world to life with such clarity as he ventures from the security of his home to the confusion of the unknown world.

Christopher’s brain moves from confusion, terror, determination and genius, with staging that moves from pulsating lights to electronic grids and a mix of computer animations thrown in.

This production will make you laugh, smile, cry and re-examine the world around you – you cannot miss it! Lyric Theatre, The Lowry: 21st January 2017 - 4th February 2017 Book here now.
