Spamalot
A musical "lovingly ripped off from Monty Python's Holy Grail!" (Eric Idle's own words!) This roller coaster of Python humour in song, with lines shamelessly lifted from Holy Grail, and classic Python sketches, tears along to riotously silly songs from Mr.Idle and John Du Prez (who scored the Meaning of Life)
Marcus Brigstocke as Arthur, is aided by his faithful steed Patsy in the form of Todd Carty (Grange Hill's Tucker) with a pair of coconut shells, and is guided by the mega-hamish Diva performance of Bonnie Langford ,as the Lady of the Lake, who's vocal skills are seriously challenged from the operatic, to jazz, through swing and vaudeville !
It’s a kaleidoscope of fast quips and one liners, some recognisable, blended with new stuff, seamlessly, well almost, into a musical journey to find the Holy Grail. The French are in it, the Black Knight, the knights who say, "Ni !" the killer rabbit, and Lancelot turns out to be gay too !
Side splitting and highly recommended !
